What one CELPIP sitting covers
One sitting takes you through the four components of CELPIP-General in the order the test presents them: Listening, then Reading, Writing and Speaking. Each part uses the task types Paragon lists for that component, on screens laid out like the computer-delivered test — so on the day, the only new thing in the room is the room.
How your answers are marked
When you hand in a part, Listening and Reading are counted against the answer key straight away. Your Writing and Speaking responses go to our AI marker, which rates each one on Paragon's four published areas — Content/Coherence, Vocabulary, Readability for Writing or Listenability for Speaking, and Task Fulfillment — and turns them into an estimated CLB level with notes on what held the response back. It is an estimate to study from, not a Paragon score.
Why the clock matters
A single task shows whether you can answer. A full sitting shows whether you can still plan a careful survey response after an hour of listening and reading. Every part here has its own clock and hands in what you have when it reaches zero, so the fatigue and the deadlines arrive in the same places they will on test day.
Where full tests fit in your preparation
Our suggestion: sit one mock near the start to find your lowest skill, spend the weeks in between on single-skill practice for that skill, and come back for another full sitting close to your test date to check that the progress holds under the clock.
Questions about the mock tests
What is a CELPIP mock test?
A rehearsal of the complete CELPIP-General: all four components in a single sitting, each part timed, with the task types of the real test. The questions are written for ExamStep, not taken from Paragon; the format is the test's.
Are the mock tests timed?
Yes. Each part has its own countdown, and when it runs out your answers for that part are handed in and the test moves on. Set aside one long, uninterrupted block; the card for each mock shows its total minutes once you sign in.
How is a CELPIP mock test marked?
Listening and Reading are marked automatically against the answer key. Writing and Speaking are rated by our AI marker on the four areas Paragon publishes and returned as an estimated CLB level with written feedback. Treat the level as a guide: only Paragon issues an official result.

How many mock tests should I take before my exam?
Paragon does not set a number. Ours: at least two — one early to find your weakest skill and one near test day to confirm your pacing — with single-skill practice in between. Extra mocks help most when you read each report before sitting the next.
