What a Mock Test Simulates (and What It Can't)
A good mock test replicates question types, section order, and rough timing. What it cannot fully replicate is the live adaptive engine ETS uses in Reading and Listening, where your early answers change the difficulty — and therefore the length — of what follows.

How Scoring Works: 0–120, the New 1–6 Scale, and MyBest Scores
The total score possible is 0–120, and responses from the Speaking and Writing sections are scored by a combination of AI scoring and ETS-certified raters. The overall score is the average of all four section scores, rounded to the nearest half band, and for a two-year transition period after January 2026 students also receive a comparable overall score on the 0–120 scale. Any simplified band shown on a practice site is that site's own estimate, not an official ETS score.
MyBest Scores are a test taker's highest section scores from all valid TOEFL iBT tests in the last two years — the combination of top scores for reading, listening, speaking, and writing plus the sum of those top scores — and they're automatically included on all TOEFL iBT score reports. If your report is on the new 1–6 scale, MyBest converts older 0–120 scores to 1–6; if your report is on the prior 0–120 scale, MyBest only includes scores from that scale. A mock test score, however high, never becomes part of your official MyBest total — only real ETS test dates count.
